The Petersen Family: Vacation Week

Okay, so this was from vacation back in October. I forgot to finish the post....oops.

Jaren was on vacation this week. Hailey missed so much school last year, that we didn't want to take her out of school a lot this year. She missed seventeen days last year....YIKES! Eight days of that was vacation, the rest was sick. So, because of that, we thought we'd stick around here. We were going to rent a cabin up at Christopher Creek, but we waited to long and they were booked on the days we wanted to go. Anyhow, staying home and doing things around town turned out to be a blast!

We took Hailey out Wednesday about three hours early, and the four of us went to lunch, IHOP because we are fancy like that...haha. I could tell when I went to take her out of school, she thought she was so cool for being able to leave midday...haha. That night we went to Makutu's Island in Chandler. Makutu's Island is a kids dream! It is an indoor, massive tree house with tons of climbing areas, hide outs and slides. Last time we went, Addy cried and was too afraid to do anything, so I really didn't want to go. But, Jaren convinced me and off we went. I am SO glad we went, because we had the funnest time ever! Jaren basically forces Addy to do stuff until she likes it so much she is begging to do it...haha. There was only like three families there, and at times we were the only ones there! It was awesome! We played arcade games and laughed SO hard! Jaren was really good at a virtual jump rope game, and it was HILARIOUS to watch him play. We were there for about three and a half hours. By the time we left, the girls were STARVING!! We ran by Mcdonalds for happy meals, and then it was home to bed. Both girls were exhausted and were sleeping in no time. One really funny thing happened while we were there. Jaren was talking to a little brother and sister, and they were telling him how much fun they were having. They said "we went to Peter Piper Pizza but my mom had an accident and had to go home and change, but we are not allowed to talk about it....lol" that's embarrassing!

Thursday we went to the zoo. It was a good day to go, but every time we go to the zoo, we always say we are never going back. I think we pretty much decided that walking around looking at animals is boring to Hailey. She loves animals, but I don't think she likes just looking at them. She likes activities where she can run and jump and actually do things that involve more. So, I think I answered my question on whether or not I was going to buy a season pass. We still had fun, but I guess the zoo is just not our thing.

Friday and Saturday we mostly hung out around the house. The girls played, watched movies and rode bikes. It was a nice, relaxing vacation for the most part.
