Jaren - Jaren has been staying busy with work, as usual. He's coming up on his sixteenth year at his job!! I'm sure he never thought working at a funeral home would become his career when he first started, way back when his best friend convinced him to go on a removal with him. He is SO good at what he does. I am amazed each time I hear him talk with a family over the phone. He is so sincere and you can really tell that he cares. Other than work, he's busy taking care of the house and trying to work out and get healthy. Haha...he would be mad if he knew I put that on here! I think he's in great shape already, but he enjoys working out and seeing changes. Go Jaren...haha!
Me - I am staying busy with the girls. By busy, I mean they drive me crazy most days!! Ahhhhh! I know they are a huge blessing, and I love them with all of my heart, but man, I need to learn some new parenting skills or something...haha. I think one of the main issues is being SO DANG TIRED!! I need to get more sleep! Which, I am trying. I set a goal to be in bed by nine, which turned into actually getting in bed by 10:30, and falling asleep an hour later. Not easy to deal with a strong headed (but sweet) seven year old and a three year old who is growing more independent by the SECOND, when you are tired. I'm also trying to workout more to help with my energy. Other things going on with me....we are almost done with the Book of Mormon! I can't believe we've read almost the whole thing since January. This is huge for me! I also started taking the girls back to church four weeks ago. Hailey loves her class, and has found a friend name Boston that she just loves. Addy is terrified to do anything without me, so I started going to Sunbeams with her. Now the Sunbeams teacher is moving, so I am going to be a teacher...YIKES! I know they are only three, but still!! The teacher that left was AWESOME and gave me her lesson materials!! I'm also an Activity Days leader, so between the two, I think I will stay pretty busy.
Hailey - Hailey continues to do so awesome in school. She is one smart cookie! She must get that from Jaren!! She got another report card with all A's again!! Way to go Hailey! She is still reading like crazy too! She has a folder that she brings home from school each day, and it has pages and pages of her book log in it. Well, one day last week, she didn't have it when we got home. She said she had it when she got in the car, and said she must've dropped it at the pick up area. Well, since we live so far away from school, I told her we'd check in the morning, and I'd text her teacher. Poor girl, this sent her into immediate tears because she said her teacher wouldn't know what books she read, and she had spent so much time on her reading. I tried to calm her, but nothing worked! Finally, her teacher texted and said she found it in the classroom...phew! She was a happy girl after that. A happy girl with red, puffy eyes! She is having a new school built next year, and she is VERY excited about that. She continues to sing all day every day, we love it, most days..haha! Sometimes she will go out in the back yard at 6AM and sing LOUD!! Not sure our neighbors like it...haha. I've had three people at church tell me how beautiful her singing was though, so cute! We need to get her into a singing or acting class, she would be in heaven! She has been watching the movie Frozen, along with every other little girl, and is OBSESSED with it. She literally sat and watched it, pausing it a million times, writing down all of the lines! She LOVES it!! She is still taking dance, and has her recital coming up in June. She is also really big into art right now. She LOVES drawing and painting, and she's getting quite good at it!
Addy - Addy is becoming quite the stinker, or rather independent, I should probably say. I have literally seen a huge change in her within the past few weeks. I don't know if she sees big sister not listening, or if she's just learning what she wants, but man, little stinker is more like it!! Still sweet as can be though! She loves to help, and tries to make us laugh by making silly faces. She is sort of liking church, because I am with her. If I wasn't, I think it would be tears the entire time. I know people say she'll get over it, but I think she has a little bit of anxiety, poor girl. She craves routine, and freaks out if anything is a bit off. I'm trying to work on that with her, and she has surprised me a couple of times lately with not freaking out in new situations...GO Addy!! She is still enrolled in swimming, and doing great. As soon as we start swimming in our pool, we will take her out of the class. She loves her teacher, and is becoming quite the little swimmer. We are trying to get her excited to start preschool this coming August, which she seems thrilled at for now.
Funny things said:
I was on the phone with my mom talking about kids waiting until they're sixteen to date. Well, Hailey was listening. When I hung up, she said "when John and I are sixteen, can we go on dates, but not kiss?" Ummm....John is her six year old COUSIN!! Haha...I have to laugh, because her and John are such good little buddies. I can't wait until she's older and I can tease her at how much she liked him!
We were watching Frozen as a family, and the prince was dancing with Ana. I asked Hailey if she was the princess, who would the prince be, and she said "John!!!"...haha.
We went to Chic-Fil-A for lunch, and the cow in the costume was there. When the girls went to hug him, he got down on one knee. Later, I told Hailey I thought he was going to propose to her. She said "Well, that couldn't happen because for one, he's a cow, and I can't marry a cow. And for two, he's a lot older than me so he'd probably die really fast!"....ummmmm, okay, silly girl.
So cute! We have a HUGE bean bag in the living room,
and a lot of nights, Jaren reads to the girls on it. I love it
when I walk in and they are sleeping!!
Addy wanted to fold her own clothes. I tried telling her to
stack them in a pile, but she had her own way of doing
it by lining them all up...haha.
Cute little Hailey working on another picture! She's
becoming such a good little artist!
Swinging, the only thing Addy ever wants to do,
especially since she just learned to pump her legs!
So cute, walked in the room to see Hailey
watching a show in her Cinderella dress.
just needs pancakes every now and then :)
Showing off their fish! We were watching Payton for the
day and decided to do an easy craft, they all loved it!
We celebrated Grandma Lois birthday. Other than these
pictures, I completely forgot to get my camera out!! Darn it!
This little turkey is so cute, even with a shower cap on!!
We curled her hair for church one morning, so pretty!
Addy helped me make General Conference
Old Maid / Go Fish cards for Activity Days.
Jaren wanted to get these popsicle molds for the girls.
They sat on the counter for two weeks, and poor
little Addy must've asked me ten times to make them!
Finally, one day I couldn't say no. I threw together
what we had and tossed them in the freezer. After
a few hours, and Addy asking every two mintues
if they were done, we tried them, and they were good!
Yummy!
Hailey decided on ice cream instead!
The girls have been loving the
Do-A-Dots lately.
Our first attempt at homemade tortillas. They
were just okay. I will have to try another
recipe. At least the girls had fun making them!
on dates, he will drive with his elbows sticking
out, it's SOOO funny and cracks me up!
Family date night to DQ!
Hailey finally lost her second tooth! It was basically
hanging there for a week...ewww!! We pulled up to church
one Sunday and it pretty much fell out of her mouth! She
was SO excited. We left it in the car and when we got out
of church, it was cracked in half! The tooth fairy left her
three bucks, and we even caught her in a picture! Hailey
said "she's SOOOO beautiful!"
why there was a dog nursing puppies in
our closet...haha! Kids do such cute things!
Cute little cousins, John, Reagan & Hannah! We have been
swapping babysitting with Jaren's brother's family, so we
can all go on dates more often, without having to pay
a sitter. So far, it's worked out great!!
The girls and I went to Sam's Club, and I
couldn't resist these cute little Easter
activity books.
Hailey is gorgeous and her curly hair makes her look like a real-life princess!! The picture of Jaren sleeping on the bean bag with the girls is priceless. So sweet! I cracked up about the nursing dog in your closet. SO FUNNY!!! Addy just keeps getting cuter and cuter. She is such an adorable little girl!
