Fourth of July

Fourth of July was a nice day.  The night before, the girls decorated their bikes for the ward bike parade.  I love that our ward does so many fun activities for the kids!  After bike decorating, I got them dressed in their cute fourth clothes, and snapped some pictures of them.  Right in the middle of taking pictures, the first monsoon dust storm of the season hit!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE monsoon season, even if we mostly just get dust and wind anymore.  Hailey loved it, Addy not so much!  She freaked and went crying in the house when our neighbors tree snapped and fell over.  She did NOT like the wind and dust!  Once inside she was happy to watch from the window.  She's our little timid one!

The morning of the Fourth we headed over to the school for the ward bike parade and donuts.  It was SO humid, but luckily a breeze was blowing.  Lots of families showed up, and the parade was fun.  The kids bikes and wagons looked so cute!  I thought they were just going around the school parking lot, so I stayed behind.  When Addy realized they were actually going around the block, she turned around and looked at me like "ummm, I am not doing this without my mommy"...haha, but she did it!  Go Addy!  Luckily there were lots of other parents walking with them, so she was fine.

After the parade we came back home and Addy took a nap while Hailey got to watch A TON of tv!  Addy has been a BEAR in the evenings!  She gets so tired, she cannot handle her emotions at all!  The other night she had a complete meltdown over a paper towel!  The poor girly was devastated that Hailey used her paper towel!  It was then that I realized she still needs a nap, desperately!  On the days she naps, our days run so much more smoothly!  Sweet little Addy girl!

After Addy's nap us girls picked up lunch and went and ate with Jaren at work.  We went to Wendy's, or as Addy calls it, Pippi's, because she thinks Wendy looks like Pippi Longstocking...haha!  After we got home, and Jaren got off work, we just hung around home until fireworks.  We ended up going to watch Apache Juntions fireworks with Jim and Gwen and their kids.  We parked in a parking lot and had a great view of them.  Unfortunately it was hot and humid, and the kids weren't too into them.  Addy was whining off and on and started screaming her head off when she got bit by an ant and wanted to go home.  Hailey and John were more interested in playing by the bushes and collecting sticks and what not.  The girls didn't go to bed until after ten!  All in all it was a good day, but next year I'm thinking a traditional bbq with family and maybe setting of smaller fireworks at home.

Get ready for picture overload....

Wish I could say these little stinkers
