Pinedale Trip

Jaren took a vacation day on Friday and we headed out to Pinedale that afternoon.  As we were leaving, there was a huge dust storm!  I know that the huge walls of dust we get here in the valley are probably not the best to breathe, but I LOVE when we get them!  I was a little sad to be leaving what looked like was going to be a big storm, but happy to be going to cooler weather.  Once we neared the mountains, it rained most of the way up.  We had a few good rains up there, and the temperature got down to 65 degrees, it was awesome!  When we got there Jaren noticed the pump was leaking, which was no fun to try to figure out.  Also a bummer because someone is in the process of buying the place, and their inspection was the next day!  Hopefully it will get fixed quick and it will sell.  We will miss coming up to the house, but we can always rent a cabin and come up in the future!

The girls had fun collecting sticks
and kept saying they were going hiking.

Cute little Hailey in her mix matched outfit.  She had
so much fun exploring around the house.

I love these cuties SO much!

Addy had fun sweeping the porch.  I think it made
her feel like a big girl!

 Such a cutie pie.

 Collecting pine cones...what fun!

This is the view from the porch.  So pretty!

It was so nice sitting on the porch in the cool weather.

I felt bad for Jaren.  He came up to relax and had to
figure out what was wrong with the pump.

Look at these two silly girls!

We went on a small hike, and Addy got a ride, lucky girl!

Hailey checking out this big tree we thought
would make a good tree house!

This is the road in front of the house.

This was the BIGGEST spider we had ever seen!  I
was in the kitchen standing RIGHT under it!  Ahhhhh.
It was a huge, harry wolf spider.  The picture does not do
it justice, it was like three inches long!!!

 Hailey eating only the marshmellows
out of her Lucky Charms, even though she
swore she would eat the rest of the cereal too
when we bought it for her....little stinker!!

Addy watching a movie and eating her breakfast.

More exploring.  Hailey is wearing size three
jeans of Addy's...haha.  She had an obsession this
weekend and kept wearing all of Addy's clothes!

Playing with the little flags.

Watching Daddy try to fix the pump house.

They had fun balancing on these boards.

The view on the way to the Petersen Ranch.  So pretty!

We went on a small hike up a hill to look for Indian pottery,
we actually ended up finding quite a few pieces.

Our little "soon to be first grader!"

This was on our hike, it started to rain a bit so
we had to make our way back down.

 Hailey loves being outdoors.

Addy is such a timid little girl.  She barely
walked at all on our hike. She was afraid of
EVERYTHING!  Bugs, branches and what not.
Jaren blames me for that....haha.

 Another pretty view.

Hailey and a piece of pottery she found.

 The girls and I.

The bridge going into Pinedale. I love that bridge!

 Hailey by Grandpa Petersen's grave.

Jaren reading some of the names on the headstones.  Cemetery's
are so sad, but interesting.  We found three headstones for a
family who's children passed away as newborns.  They had a
little boy who died the same day he was born, then four years later another
who passed away the same day, then two years later twin
girls who also passed away.  So terribly sad.  I cannot even
imagine going through that much heartbreak :(

Some of the headstones are heartbreaking too.

Little Addy seeing Grandpa's grave.  It makes me sad that
she will never remember him :(

Addy enjoying the big tub at the house.

Jaren enjoying the weather and watching the girls play.

 Girls having fun!

 I love Addy's outfit.....pj's and tennis shoes!

Addy checking out her scraped knee.

Cute sisters "going for a hike" out front of the house.

 We loved the stormy weather.

Hailey giving us a silly face :)

Jaren and Hailey going for a little walk.

We heard an animal making a weird sound,
so we got out the binoculars.

Jaren teaching Addy how to throw the ball.

 Hailey waiting patiently.

Hailey was pretty good at it.

  1. I love these pictures. They took me back. Some made me cry! I'm a really big geek that way. I love that bridge too! Hailey is hilarious wearing Addy's clothes! Hats off to you for just going with it :)

  2. Awww, I love the bridge too. Makes me think of Cleiburn :( At first I was a little annoyed she was wearing her clothes, then I was like "whatever". Haha...some of them looked so funny!
