Our Little Poser
Hailey loves to pose for pictures, when it's her idea! She came out in this funky ensemble today and said "would this make a funny picture?" So...I got out the camera and she started doing all these poses! Silly girl, she cracks me up. I can't wait to show these pictures to her future husband!

The Girls
I just love taking pictures of our girlies! I'm sure I annoy them with my camera, but I just love it.
Garden Update
It is HOT outside, and the garden is definitely feeling it! Our squash and zucchini plants have pretty much died off. I'm not sure what happened to them exactly. Our yellow golden egg squash was starting to get green and splotchy. After reading some gardening forums, I couldn't figure out if it was cross pollination because I planted the zucchini so close, or if the plant got a disease. Either way, the squash plants pretty much died off, so I pulled them out. I was thinking the zucchini was done too, but there are some new ones growing so I am going to leave it a bit longer and see what happens. The tomatoes plants are still producing pretty good. We are not getting what we used to off of them, but still getting quite a few each day, more than we can eat for sure. Hailey loves taking them to people in the neighborhood!
One of our poor squash plants. The leaves literally turned
this way over night! Hopefully our next squash plants
last a bit longer than these ones did.
What's left of the zucchini plants. We will see if they
keep producing, but I am doubtful.
The corn on the left was planted a few weeks before the corn
on the right. For some reason, it is dying. It's had plenty of
water, so I'm not sure what went wrong. So far the corn on the
right is doing ok. We do have some actual corn growing and I
am keeping my fingers crossed that the worms have not made
their homes inside of it like last year....ewwww.
Our tomato jungle! Next year I will not plant them this close
together. Even though we are getting tons of tomatoes, the
leaves are getting gross and I know that there is not
enough air circulation between the plants. We were having an
issue with tomato beetles, but after spraying once, they haven't
been seen since. Something is still eating the leaves though,
I'm thinking it is aphids.
Still getting lots of tomato clusters like this one. We have to pick
them as soon as they start turning orange or else the birds
will snatch them up. We have found quite a few half eaten
tomatoes...thanks birds!!
We had two of the most awesome cherry tomatoe
plants ever! We literally picked hundreds off each
one. They are starting to get dried, crunchy leaves. I
probably should move them to shade partially or
get some shade covers for them before they die.
We are trying watermelon and pumpkin this year. This is the start
of a watermelon plant. The girls were SO excited when we planted these.
I have heard that they are both hard to grow, and prone to disease, so
we will see if we get any pumpkins or watermelons out of them.
Mall Fun
The girls have been begging, and begging....and BEGGING to go to the mall to ride the carousel. So, a day last week I caved. I'm not a huge mall person, but we had lots of fun. They got to ride the carousel twice. Then they got to ride on the little ride on animals that they can drive all throughout the mall, that was funny! After that we went for pizza and looked in a couple of stores. We couldn't leave without getting a cookie from Paradise Bakery....mmmm. All in all it was a fun little outing.
Hailey used to pick the pink horse on the carousel, but
now she almost always chooses the tea cup.
She loves to spin herself silly!
It's funny how something as simple as a two
minute carousel ride can make a kids day.
Addy doesn't care what she rides, as long as it's
near one Hailey is riding.
Look at that cute, scrunched up smile, I love it!
Crappy phone picture, but here is Hailey driving the
panda through the mall. Addy was not so sure at first.
Addy's turn to be the driver. This only last about ten seconds
because she was too little to push the "go" button and steer.
Hailey was a little too big for this, but what
the heck, it was fun!
Pizza! I love my girls so much. Even though the days are
crazy hectic, and they drive me bonkers at times, I know
that I am so blessed to be able to be their mommy ♥♥
Tea Party
The girls wanted to do a little tea party. Unfortunately we couldn't find any of the tea party cups and plates we used to have, so we made do with what we had. I was going to make cute little sandwiches, but the girls opted for pizza instead. So...not very "tea partyish" but they still had fun!
We didn't have any fancy hats, so they went with
a tiara and a bridal veil...haha.
Mini cupcakes...mmmmm! And VERY messy! Get
a load of that frosting!!
Apples slices that didn't get touched! Guess
I would rather eat a cupcake too :)
Cute little Addy!
Pretty girl Hailey!
Goofball!
Date Night with Hailey Bug
Jaren and I had a goal this year to take Hailey on at least two dates a month. We were doing good for awhile, and she was LOVING it! Unfortunately we have slacked off. Things get busy, there was work for Jaren, Hailey had school and activities, and we just kind of put it on the back burner. I am realizing how much Hailey needs this one on one time with us, and so we are going to make it a priority again. As much as she loves it, we love taking her out too! This date was going to be Jaren and Hailey, but I needed to return something to the mall, so Hailey and I decided to make a date out of it. We headed to JC Penny and returned what we needed, and ended up doing a little shopping. Hailey is really starting to LOVE looking at clothes, it's so cute. We picked out matching dresses for her and Addy, and then Hailey got two pairs of shoes, Addy a pair of shoes and a pair of pj's for Hailey. We ended up buying two dresses, three pairs of shoes and pajamas for less than fifty bucks, not bad. Two pairs of the shoes were only five dollars each, on clearance! At one point, Hailey started folding a shirt on one of the shirt tables and looked at me and said "hold on, I'm working"...haha. She's so funny! We ended up going to Coldstone after the mall, and then to Payless Shoes. Hailey got two more pairs of shoes. Of the four pairs she got, three are sparkly and glittery! She is really into sparkles right now. When I mentioned it to her she said, in a really high pitched voice... "When I see something with sparkles I want to buy it!", then she ran around like a little spaz...haha.
Trying on a pair of shoes with a heel. She was pretty
disappointed that they didn't fit her quite right!
Love the pose...haha. She put on a fashion show
for Jaren & I with her new clothes and shoes.
Her cute little pj's she picked out!
Cookie dough ice cream, her ALL TIME FAVORITE!!!
