Week of July 2, 2012

Monday was a fun day. Hailey got to go to a baking class that I had signed her up for through Gilbert Parks & Recreation. They made pigs in a blanket. She got to eat one during class, and bring a couple home. She was so excited to have made her own lunch. Hailey's best friend Makenzey had been out of town for the past four days, and Hailey had been dying to play with her. She was sitting at the table coloring when she heard the doorbell ring five times, which she knew was Makenzey. She was SOOOOO excited. She went to play at her house and as they left Hailey said "you know what the bad thing was Makenzey? I missed you really bad and I was sad when you were gone." Awww it was so cute! Tuesday we headed over to Nana & Papa's house to say goodbye to Nana because she was flying out to Illinois on Wednesday. After that it was back to Hailey's baking class and then home for Addy's nap. Hailey went swimming that afternoon at Makenzey's house and then it was dinner and bedtime! Wednesday was Fourth of July, and I am sad that I didn't take any pictures! It's like I completely forgot! Oh well, we had a good day. Jaren was off work and we slept in until 8:45! My kids have never slept that late. Addy is going through a growth spurt that I don't want to end....haha. That afternoon we had a bbq with Jim & Gwen and the kids and grandpa and grandma Petersen. It was lots of fun, hamburgers & hotdogs, swimming and playing with water balloons. The kids playing tired them out for sure, and the girls fell asleep fast. We decided not to go to fireworks, since they start so late, and we had seen them last week anyway. Thursday and Friday we really didn't do much at all. Saturday Jaren went to work and the girls played while I cleaned. I got bit by the cleaning bug and cleaned the floors, bathrooms & bedroom. And I organized some areas that I had been meaning to get to for months. The girls played outside in the little baby pool for a couple of hours. Hailey has what we think is swimmer's ear, so she has to stick to the baby pool for now so she doesn't get her ears too wet. The girls love to put the little slide next to it and slide down. They played & played and ate popsicles! That night Jaren had UFC. During the day I had started painting Hailey's room, and when Addy went to sleep that night, I put on another coat. Sunday we started painting Hailey's room again. Don't EVER paint your five year olds bedroom bubble gum pink and try to paint over it white unless you want to be painting ALL DAY LONG!!! It took about three coats, and the last one we switched to a new gallon of paint that we had color matched. Well, the color did not match close enough, and you could totally tell, so we had to do another coat. It was exhausting. We finished the day with swimming and take out from Mi Amigos! Then it was off to bed. Hailey was excited to camp out in the living room because her room was still not finished. Jaren had to do some drywall work where a shelf fell out, and the stripes on the bottom half need painted. Hopefully we will finish it within a couple of days.
