Sun Oven

I am a little embarrassed to admit that my sweet mother in law gave us a sun oven for Christmas, about five years ago, and I just used it for the first time today.  I think I was a little intimidated by it, but I had absolutely no reason to be.  That thing is AWESOME!!  I can't believe I haven't been using it all this time.  Addy and I whipped up some homemade brownies and set it up outback, and about an hour and fifteen minutes later, we had yummy brownies.  I know how it works and all, I'm just amazed that the sun can heat it up to 350 degrees and cook things....it's AWESOME, and I will definitely be using it all the time now.  Yeah for not heating up my kitchen in the hot summer months!!  The only bad thing about it is that I have been eating healthy for a week and a half, and I scarfed down half the pan...oops!

Addy, wearing her favorite outfit, ready
to start making the brownies.

Can you tell she likes to stir & mix?

Ready to go in the sun oven...

All set up and ready to bake.

I told Addy it was an oven, but I don't think
she understood why we were putting the brownies
outside to bake....haha.

An hour and fifteen minutes later.....and they were delish!!

First week back to school

First week back into the school year went excellent.  Hailey loves her new school!  I love that she has Friday's off, and there is less bickering between the girls now...HALLELUJAH!!!  Maybe I won't check myself into a looney bin after all!  I didn't take a whole lot of pictures this week, but here are a few....

Addy was fascinated by the freezer as it
was defrosting.  I won't mention any
names (ahem...JAREN), but it was left open
all night when someone went in to get
his frozen yogurt.  Oh well, it needed
to be defrosted anyway.  I'm just glad
I didn't have anything too expensive
in there that got ruined.

Addy looking a little hyped up...haha.  She is
always telling me "I want to help make dinner".
So cute, she LOVES it.  This day we were
getting a meal ready for the crock pot, stuffed
bell peppers.  I had never made them before, but
was looking for something sort of healthy.  I'm
not a huge fan of bell peppers, so I didn't really
care for them.  Jaren LOVED them.  He didn't
understand why I didn't like them, and
said "one day your taste buds will
grow up".....haha.

All ready to go.

Playing school, Addy was the student.  A
cute little student, I might add :)

Hailey was the teacher.  She loves to pretend
she is a kindergarten teacher.  I played along
with her the other day, and was a student.
It's pretty funny listening to her be
the teacher, I love it.

I tried making the girls a cute breakfast
smiley face with their eggs & bacon.  Hailey
was not impressed...haha.  She said it needed a nose!

Wedding Gown....

I saw an idea on Pinterest, about taking a picture of your daughter wearing your wedding dress.  The idea is that one day when she gets married, you frame it and have it at her reception.  I think the idea is so cute, so that's what we did.  I'm not a photographer, so the quality isn't the greatest, but it will do if they decide to use the pictures one day.  They looked beautiful. Hailey put the dress on and called it "a princess dress".  She looked so beautiful.  I had a "flash forward" vision of the real deal for her one day.  Makes me want to have more patience with them, play more and enjoy everything...the crazy, tiresome chaos and all, because one day it won't be like this ♥♥ Love these two girls so much

 Such a pretty girl!

 Getting goofy....haha.

 Little Princess ♥♥

Addy loved it, for about ten seconds.  I think
it was a bit too itchy for her.

New Pet

We got a new pet this past weekend....the cutest little lop bunny you've ever seen.  She really is adorable. We (the girls & I) have been looking up bunnies on the internet for the past couple of weeks.  Although Jaren never said "no", to a bunny, he wasn't 100% on board.  I think I dropped enough hints though, and he knew we might be getting one.  What can I say, it was so stinking cute!  Plus, I figured it would be much easier than a dog.  When Jaren went to Pinedale on Saturday, us girls went and looked at some in Queen Creek, and she was to adorable to resist.  The girls love her to pieces, and literally cannot keep their hands off of her.  She is going to be one well loved little bunny.  No, she will not have free reign of our house, like someone had mentioned to Jaren.  That's disgusting!  Of course we are not going to let a rabbit poop all over our house!  Okay, had to get that out there :)  She is mostly in her cage, unless Hailey is awake...haha.  And then, she is outside or in a pet pen.  Get ready for some cute pics.....Oh yeah, we're pretty sure her name is Buttercup, but we do call her Hopscotch, Butterball & Trixie too...haha.

It was "love at first sight" with Hailey
and the bunny!  So cute!  She baby
talks her, it's really sweet.

 Happy Little Addy!

Cleaning her face, it almost looks like she's
hiding.  The girls think it's funny when she does this.

Jaren and the girls watching the bunny.

Hailey had to get some "bunny time" in
before she left for school.

Addy running around with her outback.  Man,
this bunny can haul some serious booty!

She likes to hide under the slide.

Garden Update

Just a little garden update.  I guess the heat got to be too much for our tomato plants.  They were still alive, but producing only a few here and there, and the plants were starting to turn brown, so the girls and I pulled them all out.  The backyard looks so much cleaner without our "tomato jungle"...haha.  I planted them WAY too close together.  They ended up giving us loads of tomatoes, and I can't wait to plant again next year.

These are the watermelon plants.  I had no idea if it was even the
time to plant them, but I did it anyway.  Last time I took a
picture, the plant was just sprouting, now....
it's taking over the entire planter box.

Another picture of the watermelon plants.
I didn't check them for a few days, and
when I finally looked at them, the vines
had grown up the trellis next to the
planter box they were in.  Not sure if
the watermelons will actually stay on
the vine this way, but we well see.
These plants grow CRAZY fast!

Tiny little watermelon.  We have quite
a few of these growing.  I hadn't checked
them in a few days and was
surprised to find this.....

So cute!  It's about the size of a large egg.
Man, these things grow fast!

I think I am most excited about growing pumpkins.  I
really hope we get some, the girls would be so happy.

I have a feeling the pumpkin is going to take
over our yard....haha.  I was hoping it would
grow along the side yard, in the rocks, but
it does not want to!

I love going out in the morning and seeing
the blossoms on the pumpkin plants opened up, so pretty!

We have TONS of little baby pumpkins, I love it!
Some of the leaves have powdery mildew, which
is pretty tough to get rid of.  I hope some of
the pumpkins actually make it, and we can
have our own little pumpkin patch!

Recent Pics

Summer is over & it's back to school.  I wish the heat was over too, but at least we only have about two more months or so.  All in all we had a good summer, even though we didn't go out and do a whole lot.  Here are some recent pics from the last week or so.

Hailey doing my step aerobics...haha.  This girl
loves to exercise!

Addy enjoying a sucker that Aunt Katie bought her.

Yummy ice cream cones!

Mmmmmmm.

We watched our old neighbor girl, Raeley.  We have
watched her a few times now, and the girls
have so much fun when she is over.  They were zoned
out watching cartoons & eating chocolate chip cookies.

Addy & Raeley staring at the chocolate chip cookies....so cute!

At the movies with Nana and cousins.

We saw Turbo, about a race car snail, cute movie!

Hailey is so creative.  We got happy meals and
she turned her box into a bird house.

She had fun gathering sticks for the nest.

She is so cute, I can't stand it!  Love
this scrunchy faced little girly ♥♥

I am noticing her closing one eye again, which
makes me a little nervous.  I do not want her to
have to go through strabismus surgery again.  We
go back for a followup in a couple of weeks.

 Cute Girls!
