More of December

I was going to do a big long post for December, but decided on breaking it up instead, otherwise I'd probably never finish it.  I feel bad because we are not doing the normal activities we usually do around Christmas, like going to see Santa, walking around the Temple, doing more crafts and neighbor gifts.  I have been having excruciating  pain in my right leg, and finally, after three months, I went and got it checked out.  After an MRI, my doctor told me I had a herniated disc that was pinching a large nerve.  All this time, I thought I had a pulled muscle and was being a wimp regarding the pain.  I felt so relieved in the doctor's office, I started bawling...embarrassing!  Since I was too busy crying and not asking questions, Jaren came with me to my next appointment.  The best thing for me right now, due to the severe pain, is have surgery to remove the herniated disc and make room for my nerve.  It's outpatient, so nothing too bad, I hope..haha.  I should find out in two days when I will have it done.  So, even though this hasn't been our "normal" December, it's still been fun, and actually very relaxing since I'm trying to stay off it as much as I can.  Here are some pics of our last few weeks...

Feeding the bunny.  The girls love giving her carrots.

Our cute little ballerina.  Addy has finally
started liking to dress up.  She used to hate it.

 Addy's letter to Santa.

 Hailey's letter to Santa.

Poor little Hailey was sick for a good four days.  She missed
three days of school, and even had to miss their Christmas
program she has been practicing for, she was SO sad.

Feeling a little better.  I remember my mom getting me a little
something when I was sick when I was younger.  So, I
picked up some stickers and a Hello Kitty pad to cheer her up.

Addy loves fruit, and she especially loves the
little clementines that she can peel herself.
She calls them baby oranges.

 Daddy reading to the girls.

Cute little Addy in her flannel pj's.  Hailey used to
wear these, and I love them.  She was working
on her "homework", as she calls it.

On our way to Addy's swim class.  They looked
so cute, I had to snap a pic.  Love these silly girls!

Fun with the mattresses.  For three days straight I told them
to STOP moving them off the beds.  Did they listen?
NO!!!  Little turds!
Addy's breakfast.  Why is this so funny to me?!  Haha.

Playing Don't Eat Pete.  John and Reagan dropped it at the
door that night and we all played at least fifteen times.  It
was actually pretty funny.  A family in the ward also left
us a similar one called Jack Frost is Not Lost, the girls loved them.

Making homemade popcorn.  The girls love watching
it pop, and apparently Jaren does too...haha.
Our pretty little fairy.  I love the ramdom
outfits Hailey comes up with out of
our dress up clothes.

Hailey has been playing the WII on
her winter break...A LOT!  She's played it
more in the last five days than she has in the
few years we've had it.  She's getting pretty good too!

Hailey is ALWAYS making little crafts and pictures
for everyone.  Like ALL THE TIME!  She is so
caring ♥  One night we saw her run into our room
really fast when she was supposed to be in bed.  We
came in later to find this.  I love that she gave us money too...haha.

Jaren showing Hailey the termite tube he pulled from the living
room ceiling.  Yes...we have termites.  Darn little bugs cost
us four hundred dollars at the bug store.  Jaren, being the handyman
that he is, is going to treat for them himself.

Sweet little Addy girl woke up with pink eye one morning!  Right
before that she started running a fever.  We were sure she caught
Hailey's strep, so we took her in to the doctor.  Strep was negative,
but her doctor gave us antibiotics in case we tested too early.  He
also gave us two more prescriptions for pink eye, in case anyone
else gets it.  Poor Addy, she fights us on the drops pretty bad.
Addy doing more "homework".  She has been doing
a lot of this lately.  She draws TONS of circles and little
tally lines on paper.  She's very careful with it afterwards
too...haha.  I went to set something on one of her
papers and she said "not on that, be careful, that's my homework"...haha.

Hailey licking the fudge from the bowl.  She is def my
daughter and LOVES anything and everything chocolate!!

Daddy and the girls looking at the tree on Christmas Eve.
I'm so lucky to have such a great dad for our girls.  He
is WAY better of a parent than I could ever be!

Haha...I took a picture of Jaren and told him
to look happy, and this is what I get.  Punk!

Hailey getting carrots for the reindeer.  Jaren always laughs because
when I was little we just put grass on a plate.  I don't know why he
thinks it's so funny.  Anyhow, we always have Hailey do that, but this
year we left them carrots, since we had some.

So cute!  Leaving their carrots out front.  Right after I snapped this
picture, they ran inside, Hailey screaming with excitement and Addy
was singing Frosty the Snowman.  I know these are such magical
days for them.  My parents tell me how much they miss us being little,
and I already know I will feel the same one day.  I wish I could keep
them little forever!!

Princess Boy...haha.  Nana & Papa gave the
girls stickers, and for over an hour, Addy kept
putting them on Jaren....haha.

Our plate to Santa.  It looks a little pathetic...haha. I totally
spaced on cookies, so we gave him a piece of fudge and an
orange.  The girls were also eating their fudge, and Addy said
really sweetly "I'm going to give Santa my piece too".  We all
said "awwwww", then she had a change of heart and
said "Just kidding"...lol, it was really funny!

Cute little sisters ♥♥

  1. I love this post and everything about your girls! Hailey looks miserable in the picture where she is lying on the couch sick. Poor girl!! I'm happy she was better for Christmas. Addy's pretty little eye looks so painful. :(

  2. Oh I felt so bad for Hailey. She was pretty miserable for the better part of four days. Man, some sicknesses just nock them out. I think it was so bad this time because she tested negative and it got worse in the two days until she was diagnosed and put on antibiotics. Poor girl!
