Messy Girls
Whoever thinks girls only play dainty things, like dolls and tea parties, has not met Hailey and Addy...haha. These girls can get dirty like nobodies business! Every Single Time we clean up the backyard, it looks like this two seconds later. Mud pies everywhere, plates full of bark, grass and weeds! No wonder I am always looking for things in my kitchen...haha.
Getting out Christmas Decorations
We started getting our tree out Thanksgiving night, a couple of years ago. This year, the girls were REALLY excited, so we got it out early, like two days before Thanksgiving! We had told Hailey that day if she got all of her responsibilities done, we would put it up that day. Man, she zoomed through it all...haha.
♥♥ Love these three ♥♥
The girls were digging through the Christmas
boxes and Addy ran in and said "Wookit Me!",
she had the stockings on her feet....haha.
Cute little Hailey Bug had to give it a try to!
Checking out the decorations.
Setting up the tree.
Haha...Hailey was cracking us up. She was singing
"Where are you Christmas" from the Grinch in the most
drawn out voice ever, it was pretty funny!
Part of the lights up. I ended up having to buy more and totally
redo it a couple of days later. Plus, the girls only decorated
the bottom of the tree...haha. Which reminded me of this...
Haha!
I love this picture ♥ She's so excited
for Christmas to come!
Our little village. The girls love seeing the houses lit up.
Corn on the Cob & Soup
Hailey has discovered that she LOVES corn on the cob. Loves is probably an understatement, it's more like obsessed..haha. For three days, she literally asked for it at every meal! The first morning I asked if she wanted waffles for breakfast and she got all excited and said "NO, CORN!!"....lol.
Putting the corn on to boil.
Yummy! Jaren told her that her tastes buds grew up since she
has been trying and liking new foods the past couple of weeks.
Addy definitely takes after her momma with
her love of bread! She loves these rolls! And the
bag is half as big as her body...haha.
Waiting for the rolls in the oven.
It had been cold and rainy, so I made homemade soup
with the above rolls and corn, yummy!
Cookies
Hailey's class was celebrating Thanksgiving, and she wanted to bring cookies to share with her classmates. She was so excited, I pretty much let her do everything herself. When school was over that day, I saw her walk up to the PE teacher with a big grin on her face, handing him a cookie. She told me she shared with her teacher, the office lady, the principal and the kindergarten teacher. Hailey loves to give things to people, sweet little girl!
We froze them into balls so we could have
some in the freezer....mmmmmm.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was a great day. I'm so thankful for our little family, my family, Jaren's family and extended family. I love making new traditions and getting our girls excited for the holidays. I believe out of the ten years we have been married, we've only not had Thanksgiving at our house maybe two or three times. I love getting up in the morning and getting the turkey ready, and it smelling up the house a couple of hours later. The past two years we have had Jaren's parents (this was our first Thanksgiving without Jaren's dad, which was sad), Jace and family, Rachel and family, and Rachel's in-laws, and it has been SO fun! There's always tons of yummy food, the little kids get to run around and scream and have fun, the older boys play video games, and then....aggravation time! Jaren's family has been playing the game aggravation for forever! I'm not a huge fan of playing, because man, they are pro's at it! They basically roll the dice and know within two seconds the move they need to make. I on the other hand, am super slow and I feel like they are all watching me, waiting for my move...haha. Anyhow, I didn't play last year, but this year I got sucked into a two and a half hour game! It was loooonng, but very entertaining. The best part about the game is the funny comebacks everyone has, it's hilarious! Jaren's family is very quick witted and so dang funny! Rachel's in-laws are pretty funny too, and they fit right in. Patty thanked us so many times for having them again, and even offered to do it at her house next year. I didn't take too many pics, but here they are....
Love my two little munchkins ♥ The girls slept until
6:45AM Thanksgiving morning....which is late for them!
The girls were very interested in the turkey, especially
Hailey. She kept wanting to touch it...ewww!
The girls watched the Macy's Day parade for
about thirty minutes or so. Hailey looks a little
funny in this picture....haha. She was in the stroller
pretending she was a baby...silly girl.
Helping cut Velveeta for the yummy brocoli
rice casserole. They love to help in the kitchen.
Jaren cutting the turkey. We don't do the whole
"carving the turkey thing", we just slice off pieces
and put it on a tray, much easier that way :)
Stuffed bellies, getting ready for aggravation to start!
Nephews Sam and Luke. Sam was just two when Jaren
and I started dating, man, time sure does fly by!
The girls playing with cousin Elsie. They ran around, playing
and screaming for hours. They sure had fun, but I think
they definitely missed cousins John and Reagan. In January
we will be going to Disneyland with Elsie, and I know they
are going to have SO much fun! Can't wait!
We didn't eat until one o'clock, so the girls had been snacking.
Addy pretty much wasn't hungry, but asked for pie about
fifty times...haha. She would come in from playing outside
and say "can us have some pie?", we would tell her not yet,
and she'd be back five minutes later. Cute girl! She had
a slice of pumpkin with whip cream and loved it!
Aggravation time, so fun! We laughed so much, the boys
are in the background playing video games and were laughing,
and I could hear giggling, screaming girls outside having
a great time! Feeling very blessed ♥
