It's May

Yikes, how did it get to be May already?  Summer is fast approaching, and I'm even starting to jot down Christmas ideas...scary!  The past couple of weeks have seemed a bit hectic to me, I don't know why, I think I just need to work on my organization skills!  Like this Monday, for instance.  Addy used to have swim at 10:30, and then two months ago, it changed to 10AM.  Well, this past Monday we ran some errands and got there at about 10:20, just in time to......WAIT, major brain fog, I was supposed to be there at ten!  Ughh, I don't know why I did that!  Maybe it's because in my mind, I want swim to be over already!  And she actually wanted to go that day!  Ughh.

Tuesday was hectic because Hailey & I tried to squeeze in a date night before Jaren went to basketball.  It felt forced and rushed, and it wasn't a whole lot of fun.  Hailey said she had fun, but I feel like I just hurried her along the whole time!  We went to get teacher appreciation gifts, to get a few church outfits for her, and for ice cream.  She said she had fun, so I guess that's all that counts!  It's also getting warmer, and the pool is getting nice!  The girls swam almost every afternoon, which tired them out, big time!

On Thursday when I picked Hailey up from school, I could tell something was wrong as I was watching her walk to the car.  She had said her ear hurt a couple time in the past week, but played like normal, so I didn't think anything of it.  Major  mom guilt was about to be had....she got in the car and burst into tears, holding her ear in pain!  I felt SO bad!  She said she was crying at school, and I was a bit annoyed they hadn't called me!  But, I guess it was about the last hour, so they probably figured she would be fine!  Still wished they had called me though!  I called her DR on the way home, and they said they could see her in an hour.  The drive home was SO hard, for both of us!  I was driving like a crazy lady so I could get home and get some motrin in her, and every time I looked back at her in the mirror, she was looking at me in the mirror, sobbing, saying her ear drum was going to pop.  When she was five, she had her ear drum rupture, and it was awful!  Anyhow, we got home and I was out of motrin!  We ran by Walgreens and then went to her appointment.  She had the nicest doctor!  Sure enough, her ear drum was bulging big time!  He said if it ruptured, she would actually feel better once the pain was gone.  Even so, I did not want her to have to go through that again.  She had a rough evening, but was feeling pretty good by morning.  Poor girl!  Next time I will listen to her when she says her ear hurts!!

Saturday Hailey had dance pictures, she looked so stinking cute!  I was glad she was feeling all better by then.  It was funny, when we walked into the studio, the photographer was already taking pictures of other girls, and he said "don't worry if your missing teeth, we've seen plenty of that today!"  Haha....so cute!  Most of the girls Hailey's age were missing a few!

Sunday was Mother's Day.  Jaren tried to let me sleep in, but once I am awake, I have a really hard time falling back to sleep, like it's nearly impossible.  I laid there for an hour, and then the girls and Jaren brought me in breakfast, so sweet.  Yummy pancakes, a fried egg, and an english muffin with jelly.  It was pretty tasty!  Jaren makes yummy pancakes!  Shortly after, the girls started arguing about whether or not a little pirate chest toy they had was a boy toy or a girl toy.  They had on all out fight over it!  Little turds, Happy Mother's Day to me..haha!  Later that day I went to church.  I left the girls home because of Hailey's ear and cough, and Addy woke up all congested!  It was kind of nice to actually sit there and listen to the talks.  Plus, all of the moms got to go to relief society and have dessert!  It was the BEST chocolate cake ever!!!  Later that evening we had a Petersen get together.  Yummy food, the kids swam and the adults go to chat.  It was a pretty nice Mother's Day.

This little cutie LOVES to play her
dice game!  She REALLY gets into it!!

Helping make cookies.  I mentioned making them a few
days back, and Addy asked me every day.  She was
so excited when I finally said we'd make some!

She told me she was writing down
everything I put in the cookies...haha.

 Yummy!!

Love Pinterest!  Got this really cute nail polish
teacher appreciation gift idea on there, Hailey
LOVED handing them out to some of her teachers
and teacher's aide.

Hailey practicing her spelling words with
a deflated fish pool toy around her neck...silly girl!

Addy practicing her letters, with glasses on haha!

Wednesday was only a high of  75, so we took advantage and
went to the park and then rode bikes in the cul-de-sac.

I was reading to her, and two second
later she was out!

Addy eating her homemade breakfast jack!

 Hailey singing Nephi's Courage from
a Youtube video.  They had been singing it
in primary, and she LOVES that song!

She was WAY TOO excited to wait until Mother's Day
to give me her gift she made at school.

 I LOVE IT!!!

I had already got a Mother's Day present a couple weeks
before, a heart rate monitor that I LOVE!!!  But, Jaren surprised
me with a toaster oven.  I've been reading how horrible microwaves
are for your food, that they basically kill all of the nutrients, so
I've been wanting to get one of these.  Can't wait to use it!
Poor little sick girl!  She was in so much pain!

But, I did manage to get a smile out of her!!

Swimming in the baby pool with cousin Elsie.

 Recital costume, she's a peppermint
in Hansel and Gretel.

Addy and I took Nana out to a Mother's Day Lunch
at Old Chicago, it was SOO yummy!!

Little Mommy

This was so funny.  I was playing with Addy in her room.  I was helping her get her two babies in their jammies, and told her she better warm up their bottles in the microwave in her play kitchen.  As she was doing that, I made one baby start crying.  She said "oh no", and came over and picked it up.  As she was holding it, I made the other one start crying.  She said "OH NO!", and rushed to pick up the second baby.  She had them both in her arms, and was checking the bottle in the microwave.  She was starting to get a bit frustrated, and I couldn't help but laugh, as I imagined this being her life in about twenty years!  I told her "you're gonna be such a good mommy", she looked at me and said "NO, I don't want to be a mommy"...haha.

Holy Smokes!! Another lost tooth for Hailey Bug!

Hailey lost another tooth, and it was at school again!  So this makes three teeth in the past couple of weeks!  This girl is getting rich off the tooth fairy!  So far she has brought her three bucks each time, and that money is adding up FAST!  When I dropped her off school this morning, I was pretty sure I'd be picking up a toothless girl in the afternoon.  I was already there waiting when I saw her get out of school.  She was trying her hardest to act sad, like something was wrong, all the way to the car.  But when she got in, she excitedly showed me her big gummy grin!  SO CUTE!  My favorite kid stage is missing teeth and freckles!  She's got the missing teeth, and is starting to get some freckles.  I just think she looks so stinking cute!

Baby Bird

On Saturday we were all outback playing while Jaren cleaned the pool.  I had found a dead baby bird that had fallen out of a nest, so sad.  Being the animal lover that she is, I got rid of it before Hailey had a chance to notice.  A few minutes later Hailey found another baby bird, this one alive.  Not sure if it was from the same nest, but it could barely walk, and it's mom was panicking trying to help it.  We put a piece of bread by the mom, thinking she might feed the baby, but she didn't.  For the next few hours, we just watched the mom stand by it and fly around it.  First we put it in what we thought was it's nest, but she never went to it.  Then we looked on Youtube and it said to make a nest in a basket, and tie it to the tree.  We tried that, thinking she would go to the baby bird after that, but she still didn't.  We left it there over night.  I'm not usually that concerned when I've seen a baby bird on the ground, but you could just see the mama bird panicking, and it was so sad!  I even woke up in the middle of the night thinking it was going to be too cold for the bird, and almost went outside to get it!  Anyhow, we checked on it the next morning, and it was still okay.  We had been feeding it food through a syringe, so at least it was getting a little something.  Later that evening, Hailey said she found what she thought was it's nest in another tree.  So, Jaren got the ladder and put the baby in the nest.  He also put a big piece of bark by the nest, so it wouldn't fall out again!  Jaren's a softy, he just won't admit it...haha!  I guess that was the right nest, because before long, the mama bird flew up and started taking care of the baby!  It was SO cool!  We've been using Jaren's binoculars to check on it throughout the day, and it's still there!  Two funny things though, Hailey was BEGGING and BEGGING for us to be able to "nurse" the baby bird with a syringe.  At one point she got all mad and said "You never let us nurse any animals!"  Haha!  And then once we put it back in the nest, she cried for a good twenty minutes, because she wanted to keep it as a pet...our sweet little animal lover!

Mama and baby bird.  It had quite a few feathers already, but
they were not fully formed, and it could barely walk.

Hailey making a makeshift nest.

This was the nest we made to tie to the tree.

Jaren and Hailey trying to feed it.

Hailey giving it a try.

Week of April 28th

This week was pretty normal.  Hailey is starting to really look forward to summer, and I'm having to push her a little more in the mornings to get ready!  I'm looking forward to no school, but I most definitely will need to have some sort of summer schedule, for my own sanity!

Funny things said:

Hailey lost her tooth at school.  On the way home, she told me that she wasn't going to tell Jaren until tomorrow.  I explained to her that Addy was only three, and probably won't understand that you don't want him to know, and will tell him.  I just didn't want her to get upset if Addy spilled the beans.  Hailey looked at me all serious and said "it's okay, I'll just keep her outside."  Haha...I don't know why that made me laugh so hard, I guess because it sounded more like Addy was the family dog, and not her sister...haha.

Also on the car ride home, talking about her lost tooth....Hailey told Addy she would lose her teeth one day too.  Addy did not like the sound of that, and started freaking out.  Hailey then tried to calm her down by patting her leg and telling her "don't worry Addy, it's not going to be until you're and old, old lady".  Addy REALLY freaked then and started crying saying "I don't want to be an old lady" over and over....haha!  Poor girl.

Addy and I were out running errands and we ran into Wendy's to use the bathroom.  As we walked in the restaurant, Addy said loudly "mmmmmm, somebodies dinner smells delicious!"  I thought it was so cute!!

My little helper.  One time I said "oh man, I sure wish I had
someone to help me unload the dishwasher", and Addy ran up
to help.  Now, she makes me say that EVERY TIME before she helps...haha.

Hailey Bug counting her riches!  She used to play
with her money when she got any, and we'd find it all
over the house, and get annoyed.  I guess she was just too
young.  Now...she has changed her silly ways...haha.  She keeps
it all in her piggy bank, and has lots of fun counting it.  The last
time she counted, she was up to 24 bucks!  She says she is
saving for a bike!

 Helping make play dough.

Play dough fun!  But not fun for me because it
leaves dried crunchy pieces all over the floor that
the vacuum won't pick up!

Helping put eggs in the pan for
hard boiled eggs, Addy's latest obsession!

 Practicing her letters, so cute!

More letter practice.  She loves these sheets where
you search for a certain letter!

Enjoying their yummy frozen yogurt with rainbow sprinkles...Mmmmm.

In my quest to get this silly girl to eat anything healthy, I found
out if she can stab her fruit with a toothpick, she will eat it...haha.

Hailey LOVES LOVES LOVES to draw and paint.  I walked
down the hall to find this surprise!!

Addy checking out the gross rats at the pet store!
She was waiting for them to exercise on the wheel.

We bought some summer flowers for the front planter.
Addy loved wheeling around the little basket.

Swim lessons, how I love you and hate you!  I love that
they taught Addy to swim, but she has anxiety over it,
and is back to crying!  She only cried for the first minute
this time, so that was good!  We are gonna finish off the
month of May and be done!!

We went for a walk and Addy wore, what she calls,
her pirate glasses...haha.

Our weeds on the side of the house were horrible.  Like as
tall as Hailey!!  I can't believe we let them get that bad!  While I
pulled weeds, this little cutie picked up the lemons that had fallen.
She is just too cute for words!!

 Fun at the park!

Hailey dancing like a total crazy chick in her Cinderella gown!

 Fun with cousins!

Playing the tablet before school!

 Hailey Bug helping make dinner.

 She loves to mix!

This picture is a bit dark, but the girls were
finally able to get in the pool for more than
two seconds.  It's still pretty cold, but they had fun!

Little Addy girl!
