Tuesday was hectic because Hailey & I tried to squeeze in a date night before Jaren went to basketball. It felt forced and rushed, and it wasn't a whole lot of fun. Hailey said she had fun, but I feel like I just hurried her along the whole time! We went to get teacher appreciation gifts, to get a few church outfits for her, and for ice cream. She said she had fun, so I guess that's all that counts! It's also getting warmer, and the pool is getting nice! The girls swam almost every afternoon, which tired them out, big time!
On Thursday when I picked Hailey up from school, I could tell something was wrong as I was watching her walk to the car. She had said her ear hurt a couple time in the past week, but played like normal, so I didn't think anything of it. Major mom guilt was about to be had....she got in the car and burst into tears, holding her ear in pain! I felt SO bad! She said she was crying at school, and I was a bit annoyed they hadn't called me! But, I guess it was about the last hour, so they probably figured she would be fine! Still wished they had called me though! I called her DR on the way home, and they said they could see her in an hour. The drive home was SO hard, for both of us! I was driving like a crazy lady so I could get home and get some motrin in her, and every time I looked back at her in the mirror, she was looking at me in the mirror, sobbing, saying her ear drum was going to pop. When she was five, she had her ear drum rupture, and it was awful! Anyhow, we got home and I was out of motrin! We ran by Walgreens and then went to her appointment. She had the nicest doctor! Sure enough, her ear drum was bulging big time! He said if it ruptured, she would actually feel better once the pain was gone. Even so, I did not want her to have to go through that again. She had a rough evening, but was feeling pretty good by morning. Poor girl! Next time I will listen to her when she says her ear hurts!!
Saturday Hailey had dance pictures, she looked so stinking cute! I was glad she was feeling all better by then. It was funny, when we walked into the studio, the photographer was already taking pictures of other girls, and he said "don't worry if your missing teeth, we've seen plenty of that today!" Haha....so cute! Most of the girls Hailey's age were missing a few!
Sunday was Mother's Day. Jaren tried to let me sleep in, but once I am awake, I have a really hard time falling back to sleep, like it's nearly impossible. I laid there for an hour, and then the girls and Jaren brought me in breakfast, so sweet. Yummy pancakes, a fried egg, and an english muffin with jelly. It was pretty tasty! Jaren makes yummy pancakes! Shortly after, the girls started arguing about whether or not a little pirate chest toy they had was a boy toy or a girl toy. They had on all out fight over it! Little turds, Happy Mother's Day to me..haha! Later that day I went to church. I left the girls home because of Hailey's ear and cough, and Addy woke up all congested! It was kind of nice to actually sit there and listen to the talks. Plus, all of the moms got to go to relief society and have dessert! It was the BEST chocolate cake ever!!! Later that evening we had a Petersen get together. Yummy food, the kids swam and the adults go to chat. It was a pretty nice Mother's Day.
This little cutie LOVES to play her
dice game! She REALLY gets into it!!
Helping make cookies. I mentioned making them a few
days back, and Addy asked me every day. She was
so excited when I finally said we'd make some!
She told me she was writing down
everything I put in the cookies...haha.
Yummy!!
Love Pinterest! Got this really cute nail polish
teacher appreciation gift idea on there, Hailey
LOVED handing them out to some of her teachers
and teacher's aide.
Hailey practicing her spelling words with
a deflated fish pool toy around her neck...silly girl!
Addy practicing her letters, with glasses on haha!
Wednesday was only a high of 75, so we took advantage and
went to the park and then rode bikes in the cul-de-sac.
I was reading to her, and two second
later she was out!
Addy eating her homemade breakfast jack!
Hailey singing Nephi's Courage from
a Youtube video. They had been singing it
in primary, and she LOVES that song!
She was WAY TOO excited to wait until Mother's Day
to give me her gift she made at school.
I LOVE IT!!!
I had already got a Mother's Day present a couple weeks
before, a heart rate monitor that I LOVE!!! But, Jaren surprised
me with a toaster oven. I've been reading how horrible microwaves
are for your food, that they basically kill all of the nutrients, so
I've been wanting to get one of these. Can't wait to use it!
Poor little sick girl! She was in so much pain!
But, I did manage to get a smile out of her!!
Swimming in the baby pool with cousin Elsie.
Recital costume, she's a peppermint
in Hansel and Gretel.
Addy and I took Nana out to a Mother's Day Lunch
at Old Chicago, it was SOO yummy!!
I'm so happy you had a nice relaxing Mother's Day!! Poor Hailey with her bulging ear drum. YIKES! That sounds soooooooo painful! And the picture of Hailey in her costume is to die for. Such a cutie!
