Christmas

We had a great Christmas!  Can't believe it has come and gone already!  This time of year always seems to fly by.  We didn't have any Christmas family parties at our house this year, so it seemed very low key and relaxing...it was nice!  Christmas Eve we had our usual Mexican potluck, and it was out at David & Cassi's / Mom & Dad's house.  The food was delicious and we had a nice time.

We got the girls to bed around 8:30 that night, and got to work!  We didn't have anything to put together this year, which was so nice!  And, I had wrapped everything early, so it was easy peasy!  The girls were SOOO excited for Santa to finally come!  They had set out cookies and milk, and took the last chain off of our Christmas count down chain.  I thought they would take forever to go to sleep, but they were out within ten minutes or so.

They woke us up around 5:30, and we waited about half an hour to open gifts.  They went in right away and saw their bikes, they LOVED them!!  They are at such a fun age!  They started on their stockings first, then we took turns, youngest to oldest, opening gifts!  Everybody loved what we got!

Later that day we went to the Petersen get together which was at Jim and Gwen's house this year.  We had a yummy lunch of ham and twice baked potatoes, salad and dessert.  Cousins exchanged gifts and ran around in the backyard.  The adult gift exchange was hilarious, as usual.  The gift exchange is probably the one thing I most look forward to every year, it's so funny!  You just never know what you are going to get.  One of our gifts was a bacon band aids, with an Olive Garden gift card stuffed in the box, and it got stolen twice, so funny!  Someone else brought a Taco Bell gift card, a four pack of toilet paper, and an air freshener....too funny!

All in all we had a great Christmas, but I am glad to have the tree and all of the decorations put away until next time!

 Setting out Santa's treats!

Santa ate the cookies!  There were just a few crumbs left!

The girls were SOO excited when they walked into the living room!

This girl LOVES her new water bottle.  It's the only one she
will use, and when we forgot it at Jim & Gwen's house on
New Years, she went into an all out meltdown!

All this little cutie wanted for Christmas was a bike
with a bakset (basket), keys and a Little Live Pet bird.  She was
SO happy to open these keys.  When I asked her why she needed
keys, she said "for all my stuff"....duh mom!!

Hailey's remote control car to drive her
Barbies around in!  She loved it!  The girls each
got one, and we were a little bummed to find out
they run on the same frequency!  Oh well!

Her very first chemistry set!  Lots and
lots of experiments to keep this girl busy!
Now if I can just get enough energy to help
her do them...haha!

Showing daddy what she picked out for him.  A pocket knife,
she was so proud of it!  So cute!

Addy picked this Barbie Pool for Hailey.  They've played with
it in the bathtub just about every night since!

Addy's gift to Jaren, a screwdriver that
you can change the end on, very useful!

Bean bag toss game for the family!

This girl had to stop and paint her fingernails
with her new nail polish!  She even did it mid present opening!!

New dress for church!  She looks so grown up in it.

Time to paint the toe nails now...haha!

Jaren picked out this cool book of
100 questions & answers for Hailey.

New pink cowgirl boots!  They have been
worn to church twice now haha!

This was Hailey's gift to Addy, a play dough set.  She loves it!

I got Jaren some yummy IBC Rootbeer.  I probably shouldn't
admit that I drank three of them!  They are so yummy!!

New cowgirl book to go with her new boots!

This little cutie got some new boots too!

 Silly girl!

I got Jaren the teeniest remote control
quad copter, and it broke about two minutes later :(

Checking out the new bikes for the first time!

 Love this little cutie!

 Her rc car, so fun!

This little race car track has gotten HOURS of use since Christmas!
It is our most used toy.  The tracks snap together easy, the cars race around
by themselves, and the girls love it!  They use their blocks and build
cities around the track, lots of fun!

Christmas Eve pics from Nana & Papa / David & Cassi's house...

Hailey got a card making kit, she loves it!!!

She also got a little mini cabbage patch doll she loves!

Addy got a sticker/art book and a mini cabbage patch doll.
She sleeps with the doll EVERY night!!
