Week of February 24th, 2014

Monday was back to school as usual.  I love having Hailey home on the weekends, but it's also nice to get back to a schedule.  Addy had swim class, where she cried for about five minutes.  Addy is so set in her ways, that if anything is different, she FREAKS!  A few weeks ago her swim teacher was training another teacher, so she had two teachers that day.  Poor girl got scared and cried!  Then on Monday, she cried, and the only thing I can think of was that there was a new kid!!  Sweet little, timid Addy!  Tuesday was another normal day, except that Jaren had to work ALL day!  He didn't get home until eight o'clock, and then he went to play church basketball as soon as he got home.  I felt like a single mom that day...haha.  But, it was actually nice because I had the girls sleeping by 7:15, and then had time to get some stuff done that I had been putting off.  Wednesday was a usual day too, Addy and I ran errands, and the girls played for A LONG time in the backyard after school. Thursday Eric and his family came over and hung out for a few hours.  The kids had lots of fun playing and running around like crazy animals!!  Friday we didn't do much.  Saturday was Jaren's birthday.  We celebrated after he got home from work, and then went to Blue Man Group while grandma watched the girls.

Funny things said...

I picked Hailey up from school and she said that a boy, Zaniel, had a crush on her.  When I asked her how she knew this, she told me because when she goes to get a drink out of the water fountain, he pushes the button for her and says "here, let me get that for you"....haha!  She also said he chases her around the playground trying to hug her, but she just wants to be friends!

Hailey came out of the bathroom from brushing her teeth, and she tucked her lips in to cover her teeth, so it looked like she didn't have any.  Addy looked at me and said "did Hailey just brush all her teeth out?"  Silly girl!

Addy and I were going to the library, and I was trying to fold up the umbrella stroller.  I couldn't figure it out, so Hailey said she would try it.  I told her she wouldn't know how if I couldn't even do it.  Ummmm, that little stinker folded that thing right up!  Then, she looked at me and said "is it weird that you're an old lady and I'm not, and I can fold it up?"  Haha, it was so funny.  Even funnier, as Addy and I were leaving the library, I went to fold it up again and couldn't figure it out again!  I thought "where's Hailey!"

Haha...Jaren would kill me if he knew I put this
on the blog!  He came down with vertigo, and was
very dizzy and felt like throwing up.  He laid down, and
the girls wanted to take care of him.  So cute!  They gave him
their blanket, unicorn, and put a washcloth on his forehead.
I especially love the unicorn part...haha!

In my search for healthy recipes, I cam across this one.
Quinoa salad.  It's more like a salsa/dip to eat with chips.
I had mine burrito style with homemade salsa and it was YUMMY!
I had no idea how much quinoa expanded though, and I seriously
had enough for at least twenty people!!

On Thursday Addy & I cleaned out the freezers. It
was this day that I realized I am a major freezer food
HOARDER!!!  I needed to clean them out for quite some
time, but kept putting it off.  I also kept shoving more stuff
in them as I would bring groceries home.  I am embarrassed
to say how many bags of food I threw away!  Eeek, it was A LOT!
Addy was my little helper and kept saying "I'm the lady
that gives you things to throw away"....haha.

All that freezer cleaning out tired this girl out!  I tried to
get her to nap on my bed, but she refused, saying"I'm not
taking a nap!"  Two minutes later, I looked down on the
floor and saw this...so cute!

Lately, the girls have been digging in the
dirt where our garden used to be.  This day,
they got FILTHY!!  I made them come in and
take a bath.  They literally left a dirt trail from
the back door to the bathtub!

This was last week when the girls and I went
to the candy shop in Chandler.

This was also last week, when Hailey and I
went on a date.  We didn't do anything too
exciting, just Barnes & Noble and Sam's Club.
We never eat at Sam's, but Hailey saw the
giant pizza sign, and I caved!  She said
it was the best pizza ever!!

The girls always want Jaren to carry them to their beds.
He started this one night, and it stuck!  This night, Addy
was already asleep and Jaren was in the shower.  Hailey
fell asleep on the floor waiting for him to get out
and carry her to bed...so cute!

We went to visit Grandma Lois, and Hailey BEGGED to
play aggravation.  Jaren and I have been playing
a lot lately, and Hailey is starting to love it too!

Little Addy girl waiting for her big sister
to get out of school.  She is always so
excited when I tell her it's time to go
pick her up.  She sure loves her sister ♥♥

Addy at swimming.  I just love this picture.  When it's not
Addy's turn in the water, she sits SO STILL on the side.  When
Hailey was her age, in the same school, she was all over the
place.  She would be bouncing in the water, swimming off the
step, making us a nervous wreck...haha.  These girls
are different in so many ways!

Hard to see, but she was kicking away.

She graduated again to the next level...GO ADDY!  Prob
only two more months of lessons, and once summer
hits, she will be quite the little swimmer!!

Addy had her normal follow up with her
eye doctor.  Poor little girl was just about in
tears when they said they were going to put drops
in her eyes.  Then she kept saying "my eyes are
funny", since they dilated them.  The doctor said
her eyes are still drifting, but that she is still correcting
them.  He said he wished he could say that she's not
turning her eyes off again, but that she might be.  We
just have to watch her closely for now, and she will go
back in six months, unless she starts closing one eye
more often.  She doesn't need glasses yet, but might down
the road.  He said they would actually help her bring
her eyes together, which would help with her issue.

We FINALLY got some rain!  The girls
woke up Saturday morning so excited!  They
stayed in their jammies and got hats and coats
on and went and played for an hour.  They came
in soaking wet and freezing!  I probably shouldn't
have let them do this, but they were having so much fun!

  1. Freezer food hoarder!! LOL That is seriously so funny! I love reading your blog for so many reasons; two reasons being your girls are hilarious and so sweet! I died laughing about Hailey's stroller comment. And the picture of Jaren with the unicorn is priceless. Such sweethearts!
