Hailey and I went on a date to the Butterfly Wonderland. We used to go out once a month with her, one on one, but have kinda gotten away from that. We def need to do that more! Anyhow, Butterfly Wonderland was completely awesome and terrifying at the same time...haha! I HATE any and all bugs, even lady bugs, so I don't know what I was thinking. You go in and there is all sorts of neat artwork made out of butterfly wings hanging on the walls. Then you get to watch a really interesting 3D movie on the stages of the butterfly. After that, you go into the atrium and there are literally thousands of butterflies flying all around you, and landing on you!! Eeek!! They literally fly right at your face...ahhh! With that, it was still totally awesome!! Hailey was a bit freaked, but not as much as me. Every time we agreed to walk around just one more time, she kept wanting to stay. They have pretty music playing, and the colorful butterflies are EVERYWHERE, it's really neat. After that, you can walk through the gift shop, which wasn't too crazy expensive, and then there are sting rays and some aquariums and insects. Pretty cool place. Here are some pics I took, my camera was on the wrong setting, so some are a bit bright...
All excited to go in. I can't believe how big she's getting!
Brochure in hand, she's ready to see some butterflies!
The artwork was pretty neat!
She was telling me all about the different kinds of butterflies
and was ready to set out on spotting them in the atrium.
More artwork.....
My cute little nerd! Haha...kidding. Ready to see the 3D movie.
After the movie, you get to see some butterflies in
different stages, slightly gross and amazing at the same time.
The woman working there caught one to show her.
Hailey got to hold it, I could tell she was a bit nervous!
That place looks awesome! I HAVE TO take my girls there some time. I love that you do a one-on-one date with Hailey. I am going to steal that idea and start spending more one-on-one time with my girls.
ReplyDeleteYou should totally take your girls! If they are really scared of bugs, I wouldn't though, because they would probably be a tad freaked. Addy would NOT do well in there...haha.
