Week of March 4th

Not a very eventful week.  Jaren had work, Hailey had school and Addy and I mostly stuck around the house doing some cleaning and ran a few errands.  We took the girls out on a date to Red Robin, and went to visit Grandma & Grandpa a couple of times.  All in all it was a pretty good week.

 The girls and Grandpa...so cute!

 Goofy Hailey!

 Love this picture!

Hailey reading to Grandma...she's catching on to reading so fast.

Addy snuggling with Grandma ♥♥

Date night at Red Robin, with both girls.  The pic of Addy and I was blurry.
It was fun, but let's just say eating out without the girls is MUCH more relaxing...sorry girls!

My little helper.

We made chocolate chip cookies after school.

SO cute!  Little Addy wearing my shoes, getting
into my makeup drawer.

Seriously YUMMY dinner!  Hawaiin turkey burgers, we
made them twice this week, and plan on making them again tomorrow!!

We decided to let Addy sleep in a normal bed with Hailey, instead of
her crib.  After one night, I decided I was not ready!  Addy probably is,
but that night they came out of her room about 20 million times, then
woke up at 3AM and then again at 5AM.  We were all so tired the next
day.  So....I'm wimping out and letting her be in her crib for awhile longer.

The girls doing "mom school".  They love when I am the teacher!

We did some “spring cleaning” in the garden too.  I went WAY overboard when I planted the lettuce.  There was too much, and it was not spaced out enough.  It was starting to get tons of gnats, and the lower leaves were starting to rot.  We ended up ripping out two huge kitchen trash bags full of lettuce, and two more of swiss chard and mustard greens.  We only ate the chard and mustard greens once, so guess we will not be planting that again next year.  We ended up planting tomato plants in parts of the two raised beds.

These are potato plants!  Watched a video on Youtube on how
to grow them.  It takes a few months, but the plants are finally starting
to show.  I'm going to be SO excited if we actually get potatoes out of them!!!

My only cabbage plant that survived.  It's starting to form a small
head in the center.  I'm hoping it doesn't get too warm before it's finished.  We
will definitely be planting more of these next year.

Cute Addy ♥♥  Every time I go out to work in the garden, this
little stinker wants to be pushed on the swing the whole time!

Park & Easter Eggs

Decided to head for the park Sunday afternoon.  The weather today was PERFECT.  We couldn't believe how many people were at the park.  The girls brought two tricycles and had fun riding around.  Even though Hailey is six and can ride a bike, she still likes the little trikes.  At one point I had to run after Addy because she was going down a hill and couldn't stop...haha.  After the park Hailey asked if we could paint Easter eggs.  At first I thought "no way", but then figured why not, since I was trying to think of something for them to do this afternoon anyhow.  And besides, it's fun!

 Riding the trikes.

Throwing bird seed off the bridge.

 Awwww

 Hailey getting some energy out!

My little poser.

Getting ready to dip the eggs.

Addy had to be very patient to let her egg sit for a minute.

Saw this whisk idea on Pinterest, and it worked
great.  Addy kept saying "my egg is trapped"...haha.

Egg coloring makes this girl HAPPY!  I think
she could do it all day if I let her.

She had a lot of fun too!

Hailey was wishing we had more eggs.

 Almost done.

 Addy kept knocking hers together...oops.

 Love the colors!

Haha...Hailey poses for pics all the time, even with eggs!

Love Addy's chubby little fingers.  She was so proud of her egg!

Addy

Addy started squinting her eyes awhile back.  I don't even know when it started, maybe a year and a half ago.  It used to be mostly outside, and mostly one eye.  We thought it was just a cute little quirk, but then she started doing both eyes, and doing it more and more.  Most people said it was most likely a phase, but a couple people said we should take her in, just in case.  I started searching on the internet, and was getting concerned that it was something called Amblyopia, so we took her in.  She was the most AWESOME patient.  She was so cute and did exactly what they told her to do.  Her doctor said she was the best patient they had all week!  She doesn't have Ambloyopia, she has something called Strabismus.  It's basically a mis-alignment of her eyes.  The way he explained it is that she is constantly trying to get both of her eyes to look at an object, and it can be very frustrating for her, so she will close one eye to make it easier.  We can tell when this happens if we have her look at something in the distance and tell her to open both eyes.  You can see one eye going to the side slightly.  She goes back in six weeks to check them again, and will most likely have surgery to correct them.  Surgery on her little eyes scares us, but if you do not correct it it will turn into Amblyopia, which could lead to loss of vision.  So, we will see in about six weeks what we do from here.

 Our little "pirate".

 Cute little Addy.

This is why we thought it was cute...haha.  This
picture cracks us up!
Sweet girl ♥♥  I feel bad we thought it was cute, and here
she has been having a hard time seeing.

Week of February 25th

Had a a good but busy week.  Had a few appointments, parent teacher conference and an eye doctor appointment for Addy.  It was early release at school all week so the girls got to have a few play dates which they loved.  Friday was Jaren's 37th birthday, and we went out to dinner with Jim and Gwen while Nana & Papa watched the girls. Friday was EXTRA awesome for me because I won first place in a weight loss contest!  For the past nine weeks (mostly, had a few rough days), I worked my tail off!!  I don't know where my will power came from, but I avoided delicious junk food again and again and worked out HARD...mostly twice a day!  It all paid off and I feel great that I won!  I didn't enter it to win, just for the accountability of having to weigh in.  But, after the first week I started to feel more competitive.  I'm down 23 pounds now, and lost almost 13 percent of my body weight!!  I still can't believe I did it!  They are starting another round of the contest next week, and I'm thinking I will join!

Ready to open Jaren's birthday gifts.

Addy's gift to Daddy, hot tamales!  Hailey got him
cadbury eggs so she could eat some...haha.

Staple gun for his bday.

I let the girls put candles on the carrot cake.  I love the
random positioning of the candles...haha.

 Mmmm...cake.

Waiting to help blow out the candles.

Hailey came home from dance and got both her
and Addy dressed in gymnastics clothes to
teach her some "moves"...haha.

 Silly girls!

Addy's new favorite thing is to wear the pink supergirl
cape and run around the kitchen island as fast
as she can...it's adorable.  She calls herself Flygirl.

These cute little sisters fight A LOT, but play A LOT!

Our old neighbors, The Wigleys, were coming over to go to the
park for a picnic.  I found the girls waiting by the front door like this...haha.

We have been doing a LOT of exercising lately, and the
girls like to do it too.  Hailey was the coach here...funny girl.

Doing jump squats!

Addy with the gloves on...haha don't mess with her!
