April Pictures

Since I'm so late on blogging, these are just random pictures from April...

Addy's new way of eating haha!

Addy was playing a rich girl (with fancy lace gloves haha),
and Hailey was her servant.  She was giving her a massage.
It's so funny to listen to these girls when they play.

We finally got a new lawn mower!!  Who would've thought that
I would have to be the one begging for a new mower haha.  I love
mowing the lawn, and our other one was so old, and was literally
falling apart.  The bag wouldn't stop falling off, a wheel was broken,
and the lid to the gas was crumpled up aluminum foil haha.

Hailey went to science camp for school!  It was three
days away.  We weren't going to let her go at first, me being
the huge worrier that I am.  But, she begged, and we started
thinking that time away would be good for her, and that
maybe she would appreciate things more (sorry Hailey, but
you are a stinker sometimes haha).  She LOVED it!!

 Another picture before she left.

Thankful for Hailey's teacher that sent this picture of her
at camp.  Ashlynn and Lexi and Hailey.

Hailey playing a game at camp.  She's in the turquoise jacket.

Poor little Addy fell asleep super early one
night, and just didn't feel good.  Luckily it
was a quick little bug, because she felt
better the next day.

Hailey had to do a report and present
it at school.  She did hers on the author
of The Boxcar Children series.  She did a great job.

 Addy climbing our neighbors tree.

 At the library.

We bought new chalk, and the girls
got the color everywhere!  Our house
looked like a murder scene haha!

Took this girl to Sam's Club and she
talked me into these gourmet cupcakes.
Hard to say no to that cute face!

After Sam's Club we went to Trader
Joe's.  Addy loves going there
because they have little carts for the kids.

There new eating place...under the table, silly girls!

Hannah and Addy.  The water was still pretty
cold at this point, but kids don't care!

Addy's teacher gave each student a goal to read 100
books by the end of the school year.  Addy wasn't really
trying at first, but once her teacher mentioned to her that she
needed to catch up to the other kids, she got really into it.  We
made a stop at the library each week, and before you know it,
she was up to 100 books.  Go Addy!

 Pancakes for breakfast....mmmmm.

Rachel's mother in law, Patty, threw an Easter egg hunt for
the kids.  I cannot believe how many eggs there were!  Since it was
so hot, they placed strips of colored paper in the eggs, and then when
they were done searching, they got to trade them for goodies.

The girls and Hannah.  They also gave them HUGE
chocolate bunnies.  The girls had a blast.

 Playing with silly putty.

 Silly girl!

Haha...such cute little fishy lips.

We made a countdown chain for summer.

Hailey's piano recital.  She looks so grown
up here!  Even though she wants to quit piano half
the time, we tell her she can't.  She is doing so so
good!  It's so fun to see her proud of herself when
she learns a new song.  Go Hailey!

Our school had a main water line break, so
they had to let kids out three hours early!  These
poor girls had to stay at school with me, so I
treated them to Golden Spoon on the way home.

 Swimming in the freezing water!

Hailey is weird haha!  Every now and then we
find something very creepy around our house.  Not
sure if we should sleep with our eyes open or what haha!

Playing pet store in Remi's cage.

Hailey Gets Braces!!

Hailey has been to a couple of different orthodontists in the past two years, just for consults.  We've known about all of the issues with her mouth, and knew she definitely needed braces at some point. A year ago we went to Davis Orthodontics for a consult, and that is the first time she felt comfortable going, and he made her laugh, so I made the decision that we would stick with them.  The last time we went, a year ago, they said he'd see us in a year and we'd probably start her first phase.  Well, we went in for the appointment, they did xrays and discussed the plan from there, and said they could put them on that day!  Hailey had already asked me if she would be getting them the same day, and I told her no.  I told them we would, but Hailey said no way and started crying haha, poor girl.  She's had a few kids at school and her cousin tell her how painful it was.  I pretty much tried to talk her into it, but she was not going for it at all.  I finally just told her we were doing it, and she could surprise dad later, since he was working.  Poor girl, I felt so bad for her, but I knew I would have a really hard time getting her to go if I set an appointment for a different day.  About fifteen minutes later, she was sitting in the ortho chair ready for her braces.  The tech that we had was AWESOME!  She literally explained every step she was doing.  It took about an hour and a half, and she was done.  Poor Addy was starving, but she was such a good girl, being so patient while we waited.  And, when she was done, she looked so stinking adorable!  She smiled, but for the next eight hours or so, she complained and was insisting we go back and get them taken off haha!  Hailey is so sensitive to pain, that I never really know when something is really hurting, or just uncomfortable (sorry Hailey, but it's true haha).  We kept her on Tylenol, and as long as she was busy, she did pretty good the rest of the day.  We tried flossing with her that night, and man, that is tricky with braces!  We finally researched using a Waterpik, and remembered that Jaren had one that he no longer used, so we got that out for her.  She loves using the Waterpik and has been taking really good care of them, but it's only two days into it, so we'll see how it goes!  I can't believe we actually have a kid in braces!  Time is just flying by!

Poor girl did not want to get them on today.

 This made her laugh though....haha!

 So cute!

Smiling because she gets a slushy!

Later that day we made cupcakes.  She got
a shirt from her ortho and loves it!

Her mouth was sore, so she took a relaxing bath.

To cheer her up, we took her to get
a new beanie boo.

The next day she went to an
activity days activity and got this
cute shirt.  She was excited to
show off her braces to her friends.

Using her water pik to keep them clean.

Easter

Easter was nice.  We usually do a Petersen get together and egg hunt, but this year Jim and Gwen went to her sister's house, and we went to my parents.  We had a nice Kumla dinner and visited.  The only thing missing was the egg hunt, but the girls had fun playing with cousins instead.

This was the ward Easter egg breakfast
and egg hunt.  The girls loved it.

 Cute little Hailey waiting patiently
to go on the egg hunt.

It's not really an egg hunt, just a bazillion eggs thrown out
on a huge open field, but fun nonetheless.

 The girls LOVE dying eggs.

Their Easter baskets.  We left them on the table for them
to discover in the morning.  They actually opened them
quietly and let us sleep in!!  I love that they are getting
to the stage of being more independent in the morning.

 Addy got a jump rope.

Hailey got a fun little game.

 Checking out their goodies.

We "egged" our neighbors house with
candy filled eggs.  The girls were SO excited
to find out that they did it back to them.  We
have the best neighbors!!
