Addy Starts Gymnastics

Addy took dance last year and absolutely hated it.  Even though she was with her good friend Maylee, she cried almost every time we went.  It was SOOO frustrating.  The past few months, we've been driving Hailey to her singing class every Thursday, and kept passing a little gymnastics place.  I casually asked Addy about signing up, and she LOVED the idea.  I was shocked, since after her dance ended, she insisted she was never signing up for anything again.  So, we went and tried a practice class, and she loved it!!!  She had no problem leaving me and doing something new.  What a difference six months makes.  I guess she has matured a bit since dance, and I am so happy that she enjoys it!  She has been practicing her bridge and doing the splits, and she's always so excited to show us.

Last Day of School

I can't believe the school year is over!  We now have a fourth grader and a first grader!  Crazy.  Hailey had a great year.  She learned so much and loved her teacher, Mrs. Ramsey.  The only downside to third grade was the girl drama that started.  People warned me, but I had no idea it started so young.  There was one girl in her class that was the ring leader, pretty much all year.  She decided who played with who, and liked to exclude girls one day, and then be their best friend the next.  It's difficult to teach your daughter to be kind, when she is dealing with a girl like that.  But, I am proud of Hailey for being a good friend, and not letting it get the best of her.  She stood up for girls who were excluded, I love that part of her. 

Addy had a rough start to the year.  She just couldn't handle being away from me...poor thing.  I had to walk her in to her desk every day, and she would stall like crazy when I had to leave.  Luckily, she had an awesome teacher, Mrs. Molly, and she was very understanding.  It took about 75% of the school year, and then it was like a flip was switched, and she stopped crying and being upset when I left.  We are hoping first grade starts out a lot smoother!

The second to the last day was a Wednesday.  Wednesday is the day I usually went to school to eat lunch with the girls, and it was the day of their party.  I stayed for lunch, then each girls party.  They were SO excited and ate tons of junk!

The last day of school was only two hours, and it was a water day.  They had a couple of water bounce houses out, and lots of P.E. equipment to play with.  The girls had fun, but we only stayed an hour and a half, because it was cold.  It was a great start to their summer vacation.  We are looking forward to no schedules and homework, and lots of swimming and activities!

Hailey's Music Class

Hailey took a music class, and they had their end of year recital.  It was pretty cute.  She got to dress up in costumes and sing and dance, she loved it!  I'm kinda glad it's over though, because it was too far to drive her to it and go home, so Addy and I had to wait in the neighborhood for an hour (it was at someone's house).  She had a few different costume changes, not sure why I didn't get more pictures...oops.

 Hailey has such a big heart for animals.

We watch these Youtube videos called

Hope for Paws.  It's where they do animal

rescues of homeless dogs, and find them

new homes.  Well, at the end of every video, it

asks you to donate five dollars.  Hailey earned ten

bucks, and sent it to them.  Addy also added a dollar

of her money!  Weeks went by, and she finally got a thank

you letter, she was SOOO excited!

Wednesday, on pizza day.  Hailey LOVES

pizza day, but Addy always takes mac

and cheese instead! They are fortunate

that their school has microwaves for

them to heat their lunches!

He was so funny with Hailey.  And bonus,

they have a slushie machine in their office!

She has some major dental work that will need

to be done, including two sets of braces

and a few implants.  Poor girl!  Up until this point

she has said she is not getting braces, but this

orthodontist actually made her excited for them!
