Rapping with the Cousins

A few months ago, we started swapping babysitting for date nights with Jim & Gwen.  It has worked out great, plus, we don't have to pay a sitter!  These pictures are from the last time we babysat John, Reagan & Hannah.  We made up a game called Rap Request.  I have not laughed this hard in a LONG time!  I was dying!  We put on some background rap music from Youtube, and got the microphone out.  Someone gives you a topic, and you have to make up a rap about it!  It was hilarious!!  We rapped about everything from pizza to carousels.  The kids kept saying things like "word up, drop a beat", so funny!  The pictures are bad, but we sure had fun!

 John wearing the mullet headband...haha.

Jaren beat boxing is HILARIOUS!

Baking Soda Experiment

The girls are really into doing little science experiments, especially Hailey.  I think Addy just likes to pour and measure things!  We've done this little experiment before, but Hailey wanted to do it again.  You pour vinegar, water and baking soda into a ziplock baggy and watch it pop the bag, or EXPLODE, as the girls call it!  It's fun, cheap and not messy, which makes me happy!!!

Elephant Toothpaste

I having been telling the girls for months that we would make elephant toothpaste, a science experiment that I saw on Pinterest.  A few weeks before Hailey got out of school, her teacher did it in class, but something went wrong and it basically exploded all over her and the ceiling.  Hailey thought it was pretty funny and said "I got to hear her scream, " so funny!  So, I finally picked up the stuff, and we did it when John came over to play.  I was a bit freaked thinking it would explode like Hailey's classroom experiment, so I think I had the kids a bit afraid...haha!  The first one we tried started bubbling and spitting out of the bottle a bit, but then it started foaming out like it was supposed to.  The kids loved pouring the ingredients and watching and playing with the foam.

Father's Day

Father's Day was very relaxing.  We got up and made Jaren his usual breakfast lately, juiced vegetables, blah!!  Easy, but not what I would've picked...lol.   I would've made him a nice breakfast, but he LOVES his veggies.  We gave him his cards and gifts, See's candy that we had already dug into, an exercise program that he wanted, and a cool ring off of Etsy that he had mentioned.  The ring is pretty cool, it's made out of a coin, and it says Liberty on the front.  It was a nice morning, and then us girls headed off to church.  After church we were going to go see my dad, but I felt really sick, and just hung around home.  Jaren is so good to Hailey & Addy, I really couldn't of asked for a better dad for our girls ♥♥

The ring we got him, you can't really see it very well.

Hailey Goes to the Dentist

Is it weird to blog every dental visit?  Probably, but they look so cute sitting in the big chair.  Hailey's past visit went pretty well.  The previous visit, she had gone back by herself, mostly because the lady had said I could wait in the waiting room, and we just agreed. This time Hailey wanted me to go back with her though.  We found out at this visit that Hailey has a tooth in the back that might be missing, or very delayed, and a bottom front tooth that is definitely missing!  I guess I never realized you could have adult teeth just not come in!  The back tooth will be fine, but the front one is a lot less common, and will require braces down the road to "squish" them together to try to make it look like she is not missing one.  So, guess we will have to get some good dental insurance by then.  Every time we go, I am reminded by the huge bill how much having no dental insurance sucks!  She was VERY excited to get a prize bag again!  And they got to play on the playground out front, which of course, they love!  Now Addy is up next in a few weeks, hope she does as well as Hailey!

 She looks so big!!

Showing her goody bag to Addy.

Showing me her picture of the dentist.  They
were doing a summer contest where you take
her picture on your summer activities, and send
it to them.  Unfortunately, we haven't taken
her picture once....oops!!
 Silly Girl!!

Waiting for the dentist to come in, she got tired haha!

Tempe Town Lake Splash Pad

The girls and I decided to try out a splash pad at Tempe Town Lake.  They LOVED it!  It was the perfect size for me to keep track of them, and it wasn't too crowded at all.  It had a slide, a waterfall, and plenty space to play in the water.

Hailey's Dance Recital

Hailey had her dance recital, and it was super cute, but super hectic, as it usually is.  The dance group that she is with puts on a HUGE recital each year at Mesa High School, and it is crazy!!!  Even through all the craziness all the cute little dancers did such a good job!  The recital was Hansel & Gretel, and Hailey was a peppermint.  Her costume was so stinking cute, but the poor girl, hated wearing it.  It itched her like crazy, and because the body of it had little sequins, it scratched up her little arms!  As soon as the recital was over and she was in the car, she stripped down to her undies ASAP.  I barley got any pictures, because I was juggling a sleepy Addy and didn't want to deal with lugging around my camera too.  Unfortunately Jaren was on phones for work and got a couple of calls and had to leave the auditorium.  This was her fourth year in dance, and every year at recital time I tell Jaren we are not doing it next year, and every year, we sign her up again.  The things we do for our kids!!

Our pretty little ballerina...

These are dress rehearsal pics from the day before....

Before the show with Nana & Papa.
She looks so pretty!

Someone always gets her roses.  This year she said
"is someone buying me roses?"  LOL

Waiting for her turn on the stage, trying
to keep her arms off the itchy costume!
